Odyssey + LEAF Global Arts
Recently, Odyssey students explored rhythm, dance, and expression alongside the incredible Teaching Artists from Leaf Global Arts β guided by our very own Music Director, AgustΓn, who is also a longtime Leaf Teaching Artist himself.
Through music and movement, students discovered the joy of collaboration and the power of art to build bridges across cultures. A beautiful reminder that creativity connects us all.
Middle School: A Gravity Quest
Our brilliant Middle School teacher Tavi Hardy giving a hands-on demonstration about gravity for his class.
Bilingual Birdies in the Pre-K Class
Our PreK students had an absolute blast during their recent weekly visit with Bilingual Birdies! Through songs, movement, and laughter, they explored new languages and cultures β a joyful reminder of how much we learn when we open our hearts (and ears!) to the world around us.
Fridays with Tater Knob Farm
Friday afternoons at Odyssey are extra special.
Our high school teacher (and farmer-musician) Gabe Johnson brings fresh produce from his @taterknob farm to our Friday produce stand β and sometimes, a little live music too.
This week, he was joined by Ms. Lydia and Ms. Cary, as our kindergartners gathered outside to listen, sway, and soak up the joy.
Kindergarten Play: Nuwa and the Broken Sky
Our kindergartners brought ancient mythology to life last week with their classroom play, Nuwa and the Broken Sky. As part of their unit on China, students explored stories that have been told for thousands of years β learning how myths help people make sense of the world, celebrate creativity, and connect across cultures.
Citizen Times Feature
Big love to our very own Odyssey Music Director, AgustΓn Palomo Ramos, for repping his Odyssey shirt loud and proud on the drums at Ashevilleβs recent Goombay Festival!
Goombay is Ashevilleβs annual celebration of African and Caribbean culture, music, and community β and we loved seeing AgustΓn bring his rhythm to the heart of it all.
Huge thanks to the Citizen Times and Goombay Festival for shining a light on someone so special to us.
