Head of school update, 11/9

Dear Odyssey Community,

We were able to join many conferences on Thursday and Friday and it was fantastic to hear from teachers about the strengths, effort, and successes of our students so far this year. Because of our focus on the Six Strands and our low student to teacher ratio, teachers see the little things, the small steps of growth socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Because of their training and experience, they are delivering a differentiated curriculum and finding diverse ways for students to show what they know and can do.

Some of the conferences will generate follow-up meetings and additional planning for student success. Parents and families were given a wealth of information at the conference, and that can take time to digest. Please reach out to your teachers if you realize you have follow-up questions or requests.

Finally, Tuesday is Veteran’s Day. We want to recognize the contributions of those who have served in defence of our country and their willingness to sacrifice for the common good.
