Summer camp is a magical time for our youngest campers. Days are filled with open-ended play and gentle rhythms that invite curiosity, creativity, and connection. Children spend their mornings exploring thoughtfully prepared classroom centers—building with blocks, playing small-group games, experimenting with math materials, drawing and writing, or diving into an art invitation.

Each day includes a cozy circle time for sharing stories, practicing moments of calm, and nurturing our sense of community. Campers also enjoy daily outdoor play beneath the trees and time in the pool to splash, explore, and build confidence in the water. Our swim instructor, CJ O’Reilly, conducts weekly swim check-ins and provides free beginner swim lessons for campers who are still building proficiency.

Rooted in play, gentle rhythms, and meaningful connection, this camp supports our youngest learners as they build confidence, curiosity, and a joyful sense of belonging.

Mornings might begin with spontaneous dance parties in the gym, shooting hoops on the basketball court, or inventing games together. Campers collaborate on design challenges, dive into group games, and still find moments for quiet rest and reflection. Each day includes a community circle for sharing stories, practicing calm and connection, and strengthening friendships. Daily swim time is also built into the rhythm of camp.

No matter who you are, you have something BIG to say! By learning how to write your own original rhymes and then perform them on a microphone, you can take all your wild thoughts, emotions, and ideas and turn them into art. This low pressure camp is full of fun, laughter, and creativity, and is open to anyone who wants to express themself. Along with lessons on rhyme writing and performance, we will spend time swimming, playing outdoors in the sunshine, and having free discussions, going wherever our minds wander.

Along the way, we will explore "rites of passage", and learn how the creative process can be a vehicle to find yourself and overcome your fears. We will also explore the history of hip-hop culture, where it started, how it is evolving, and how we can properly participate in that evolution. Each camp member will learn all the basics, from the page to the stage, and how to share their own style, loud and proud in front of a crowd. The week ends with a lively performance where parents will be invited to see their kids SHINE while performing alongside 23 Skidoo!

This camp is taught by Asheville local Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, a GRAMMY winning, internationally touring hip-hop artist working with kids and families for almost two decades.
