Fridays with Tater Knob Farm
Friday afternoons at Odyssey are extra special.
Our high school teacher (and farmer-musician) Gabe Johnson brings fresh produce from his @taterknob farm to our Friday produce stand — and sometimes, a little live music too.
This week, he was joined by Ms. Lydia and Ms. Cary, as our kindergartners gathered outside to listen, sway, and soak up the joy.
Kindergarten Play: Nuwa and the Broken Sky
Our kindergartners brought ancient mythology to life last week with their classroom play, Nuwa and the Broken Sky. As part of their unit on China, students explored stories that have been told for thousands of years — learning how myths help people make sense of the world, celebrate creativity, and connect across cultures.
Citizen Times Feature
Big love to our very own Odyssey Music Director, Agustín Palomo Ramos, for repping his Odyssey shirt loud and proud on the drums at Asheville’s recent Goombay Festival!
Goombay is Asheville’s annual celebration of African and Caribbean culture, music, and community — and we loved seeing Agustín bring his rhythm to the heart of it all.
Huge thanks to the Citizen Times and Goombay Festival for shining a light on someone so special to us.
Journey Week for Odyssey High
During Journey Week, our high schoolers set aside textbooks and step straight into adventure. The goal? To build trust, courage, and connection as we launch into the year together.
Middle School: Lookout Mountain Hike
Middle schoolers on the move! The 7th and 8th grade crew conquered Lookout Mountain, proving that the best classrooms sometimes have no walls at all.
Best of WNC 2025!
A heartfelt thank you, Asheville! Because of your votes, Odyssey was recognized in the Mountain Xpress Best of WNC for our school, preschool, art education program, and our amazing music teacher, Agustín Palomo Ramos.
We’re so grateful to be part of such a loving, supportive community. Your belief in Odyssey helps our students, teachers, and families shine brighter every day.
Music Studio Upgrade
Our music studio just leveled up in a big way — thanks to a trio of creative powerhouses. These stunning sound tiles were donated by Rebekkah at RadHaus Studio, painted with soul by artist Kathryn Crawford, and lovingly installed by the one-and-only Kim Bella.
We’re beyond grateful for this dream team of volunteers and visionaries who helped us make this space sing!
