Music Studio Upgrade

Our music studio just leveled up in a big way β€” thanks to a trio of creative powerhouses. These stunning sound tiles were donated by Rebekkah at RadHaus Studio, painted with soul by artist Kathryn Crawford, and lovingly installed by the one-and-only Kim Bella.

We’re beyond grateful for this dream team of volunteers and visionaries who helped us make this space sing!

Blue Ridge Public Radio studio visit

Our high school students recently had the incredible opportunity to visit Helen Chickering at Blue Ridge Public Radioβ€”getting a behind-the-scenes look at the world of public broadcasting and audio storytelling. From interviews to editing, they explored one of the many creative pathways available to those with a passion for music, media, and the arts.

A huge thank you to Kristin Harkeyβ€”Odyssey parent and BPR’s fundraising managerβ€”for making this unforgettable experience possible. The students were energized and inspired, thrilled to see where their love of music could lead. Our music program is truly one of the things that sets Odyssey apartβ€”and we’re excited to share that we’ve been invited to create original music beds for future BPR ads. Stay tuned!

In this week’s music class with our incredible music director Agustin Palomo, students took turns making music, conducting the freezes, and dancing their hearts out. Joy, creativity, and a whole lot of gigglesβ€”just another day of learning through play at Odyssey!

Symphony Field Trip

Our high school musicians traded the classroom for the concert hall recently, stepping into the breathtaking world of live symphony. From the first soaring note to the final crescendo, they were transported by the power of musicβ€”feeling every emotion, hearing every nuance, and experiencing artistry at its finest.

Thank you AgustΓn for making our music program immersive and unique! Speaking of AgustΓn - don’t forget to vote for him in this year’s WNC Best of Ballot that went live today!
