Blue Ridge Public Radio studio visit

high school students in a radio station recording booth watching how production happens

Our high school students recently had the incredible opportunity to visit Helen Chickering at Blue Ridge Public Radio—getting a behind-the-scenes look at the world of public broadcasting and audio storytelling. From interviews to editing, they explored one of the many creative pathways available to those with a passion for music, media, and the arts.

A huge thank you to Kristin Harkey—Odyssey parent and BPR’s fundraising manager—for making this unforgettable experience possible. The students were energized and inspired, thrilled to see where their love of music could lead. Our music program is truly one of the things that sets Odyssey apart—and we’re excited to share that we’ve been invited to create original music beds for future BPR ads. Stay tuned!
