What’s an IRP?

What’s an IRP? Our 3/4 Class is here to give you the rundown!

At Odyssey, beginning in Kindergarten, we celebrate the annual tradition of Independent Research Projects (IRPs) by allowing students to practice independence, authenticity and self-motivated learning.

During each IRP season, students are given the freedom to select a subject of their choice to research and develop into sincere portfolios of work. Over the course of several weeks, students devote weeks to researching, writing, and creating supporting art projects related to their own personal interests. We like to encourage an element of public speaking in front of peers and family members as well and because students choose their topics, this makes learning (and presenting) incredibly fun!

We absolutely love IRP season here at Odyssey and we are so proud of all of the hard work that our creators invest into their work!!
