Head of School Update
Dear Odyssey Community,
Many Odyssey families receive the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship, and the application for the 2026-2027 school year will open tomorrow, February 2! The North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship helps North Carolina families pay for private school tuition and fees for grades Kindergarten through 12. Awards range from approximately $3,000 to $7,000, depending on a family’s income.
We encourage all Odyssey families to apply for the scholarship. Click here to learn about the Opportunity Scholarship, and access the application. If you already receive the scholarship, please log into your MyPortal account in the month of February to renew.
Odyssey also offers a limited amount of financial aid each year. Whether you are requesting financial aid for the first time, or have received financial aid in the past and would like to apply again, you can log into your FACTS Family Portal to access the application. When you’re logged in to the Family Portal, click “Financial” on the left side menu bar, then click “Apply for Aid” in the far right box. Please note: it is required that all families who apply for Odyssey financial aid also apply for the Opportunity Scholarship. Financial aid applications are due February 13.

Join the Odyssey Community Band!
We are going to get the "Odyssey Community Band" back together for the Day of the Heart celebration on FRIDAY FEBRUARY 13TH, 2026. We are not sure of the exact time yet but it will most likely be at the start of the day inside the school gym.
This ensemble is open to ANY musicians in our school community. Everyone is welcome to join in. We will come up with a practice schedule ASAP. If for some reason you can't make it; no worries, we will record the practices, make music charts, and share them with anyone that wants to play.
If you are interested in playing an instrument and/or singing, please reply to Agustin directly and let him know your wishes - you can reach him at apalomoramos@odysseycommunity.org He will add you to the list and make sure that you get the information for the gig.

Students in grades 5th-12th are welcome to perform at this open mic style evening, hosted by the High School Student Government Association! All families and friends are welcome to attend.

Parents and Caregivers of Neurodivergent Odyssey Students Group Meeting, Feb. 3, 4:30-5:30
Tuesday, Feb. 3, is our next meeting of the Parents and Caregivers of Neurodivergent Odyssey Students Community Group. The purpose of this group is to meet other Odyssey community members who are raising neurodivergent children, and explore common challenges, share ideas and celebrate successes while supporting one another. We'll meet from 4:30-5:30, and your students can attend aftercare during that time. Hope to see you there!
