February 2nd - March 30th
$100/semester
3 student minimum - 10 student maximum

Songwriting Club is an opportunity for experienced or aspiring songwriters/poets to dive into the art of writing a song. We'll spend time studying songs and their rhyme schemes, use of poetic devices and discuss why lyrics may be effective and resonate with listeners. We'll use that knowledge to guide us in writing our own poems/lyrics. Each week, we'll use a different style of song to study and then emulate in our own writing. It is great if club participants play an instrument, however, it is not required!

They will learn about aperture, shutter speeds, composition and the rule of thirds and many other important factors in taking a good photograph. The students will write simple statements about their photographs each week and put them in a portfolio they will take home at the end of the course. There will be a student show at the end of the course, so students can showcase their work.
