Faculty Meeting Notes, 1/13/16
The new afternoon supervision schedule is in the Faculty Portal. Please plug it into your phone/calendar. All meeting notes are in the faculty portal.
· Megan requested that faculty members speak to her or Cory about any specific feedback they might have about the Community Meeting.
· Buddy Lunch:
Ø In light of MLK Day, focusing on their dreams for their lives and/ or for the world.
Ø (Older kids sharing about something that happens in the future, to present it in a “thought bubble” with a picture and simple iconic representation.
Ø We need to consider the time issue.
Ø One suggestion is that we could create the thought bubbles in the classroom prior to the meeting with a very specific prompt.
Ø Other suggestions included a prompt poem, older kids interviewing younger buddies, and/or having older buddies asking the younger buddies about how to solve a particular contemporary problem.
Ø Request for specific prompts or interview questions. Robin will create the form. Large school-wide bulletin board and photos of the day. We can use the bulletin board in front of the offices. Samata and Courtney will put together the aesthetic part. Their dream with a sentence and an image.
Ø 11:45 gathering time.
· Rainy Day schedule will be activated by Pre-K and/ or other grade levels through a GroupMe text.
Megan reviewed general professional portfolio guidelines.
Teachers broke out to work on Action Plans and preparing for the spring semester.
