“Andábamos sin buscarnos, pero sabiendo que andábamos para encontrarnos” (“We were walking not looking for ourselves, but knowing that we were walking to find ourselves.”). –Julio Cortázar

Calie is a native of Charleston, SC and has spent the last 5 years in Asheville exploring the magically lush mountains and sparkly, brisk rivers. Calie has truly been a life-long learner of Spanish, beginning studies at 12 years old, and graduating from UGA with her Master’s degree Spanish Literature 11 years later. She has lived abroad in Spain, Argentina, and Costa Rica and has taught english at Universidad Cesar Vallejo in Trujillo, Peru. Calie has been incredibly fortunate to experience some of the most beautiful countries and people in the world (ask her about her trip to Machu Picchu- it was a gas!) In her free time, Calie enjoys cooking delicious vegan food, gardening, foraging, listening to and playing music with her partner, reading and getting outside with her trusty pup, Howie.
