2018-2019 Garden, Greenhouse, and Aquaponics Lab Improvements

This fall, our Roots & Weeds Committee has worked hard to totally clean out and re-start our green systems!
We have emptied and scrubbed our aquaponics tanks and prepared them for the new arrivals: tilapia!  We planted a citrus tree and a pomegranate tree in our grow beds, and catfish will be coming soon. We have also planned the new layout for the garden which will provide a square foot of garden space for each student at the school!

We are still in the developing stages and can use all hands on deck. These are the ways parents can help us to get to the thriving and beautiful garden, greenhouse, and aquaponics system we desire:

1. Join the Roots & Weeds Committee.

2. Come to workdays.

3. Volunteer during any free time you have, just check in with Alyssa DeRonne to see what needs to be done.

4. Run a Roots & Weeds club.

5. Teach a Roots & Weeds class.

Please contact Alyssa if you have the hands and heart to help our gardens grow!
