High School Social Design Teacher
Keith Knox is the descendant of many hard-working ancestors who made Asheville and surrounding areas their home. He has lived in Atlanta, Ga and Asheville, NC for most of his life and recently obtained two degrees from the University of North Carolina Asheville in Political Science and Africana Studies.
Keith’s life has been filled with many experiences, which have shaped who he is today. He found his voice and fight for justice through his studies at UNC-Asheville. What helped Keith the most was his studies in Black Political Science classes, where he learned about more than just about Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. He was introduced to Stokely Carmichael, David Walker, and Fannie Lou Hamer, to name just a few.
In teaching the history and tools of social justice and theory, Keith hopes to change student lives as they change his life.
