James Becker

James Becker at Stonehenge for Integral Education

Summer Camp Counselor

James Becker’s passion for working, learning, and playing with kids is evident as soon as you step into his classroom. James earned his Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and NC Teaching Licensure in Comprehensive Science through the University of North Carolina Asheville. During this past school year, James has substitute taught in many Odyssey classrooms and has been a vital support teacher for PreK-12 classrooms. We are very excited to welcome him as a full-time member part of our team this summer!

Outside of the classroom, James is an avid woodworker and gamemaster. He recently retired as the Venture Captain for the Appalachian Pathfinder Society after 5 ½ years. James, his wife, and son, can be found outdoors most weekends enjoying Western North Carolina’s natural beauty.

Odyssey School is an independent, non-profit school with a focus on whole child, emotionally intelligent, personalized curriculum for students in PreK-12.
