Cory Adams has lived in Asheville since 1997 and holds a degree in English literature from Warren Wilson College. As the child of two public school teachers, Cory was drawn to the non-profit world and to Odyssey through her love of learning. Her oldest son Simon entered the Odyssey Preschool program in 2008. “At the time, I was looking for a school that would lay a supportive emotional foundation while teaching our son how to learn and think—and of course have fun. As he grows older, I keep him at Odyssey because he loves it, and because I believe that Integral Education, with its focus on reflection and self-awareness is preparation every child should have to lead a successful life.” Cory has been co-leading the school since 2014.
A former business owner, Cory is responsible for managing much of the day-to-day operations, budgeting, and facilities at Odyssey. As a faculty member, she works primarily with Odyssey High School. Her focus as an administrator is on partnership and collaboration, using Dynamic Governance, the Integral Model, and Compassionate Communication to actualize on strategic planning for the school.
