Alyssa DeRonne grew up in Northern Illinois surrounded by corn fields. Looking for a little more excitement she moved to Chicago and lived there for two years while managing a demanding catering business and café. In 2002, Alyssa moved to Tempe, Arizona to thaw out and get her associates degree. While managing the file room of the grants office at Arizona State University, she became pregnant with her first child and left the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom. When her last child reached the toddler years, Alyssa tried her hand at various entrepreneurial endeavors, and out of those endeavors LaViewEye Community Kitchen was founded. Alyssa still owns and operates this kitchen for other entrepreneurs to create their goods.
In the fall of 2017 Alyssa graduated from the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine with a certificate in community herbalism, and at the same time Venus, Orion, and Aurora began school at Odyssey. With all three kids in full-day school it was time for Alyssa to re-join the workforce. Alyssa brings many skills to the administrative office, including the priceless education of being a stay-at-home mom to three children for 10 years. Alyssa is here to help you with any questions you might have. If she doesn’t know the answer, she can get you the answer. If you can’t find Alyssa in the office, you might find her in her apothecary, foraging in the woods, or talking to trees.
