Aaron Dison

Kung Fu Instructor, 2nd-8th Grade

Aaron spent 7 years as a school teacher in the public education system. He left in 2014 to open his studio, a martial arts school herein Asheville, and teach the practice he is most passionate about: martial arts.

He began his journey through martial arts in 1998 and has since studied Taekwondo, Hapkido, Shotokan Karate, Jeet Kune Do, PasaRyu, Yin Baguazhang, Chen Tai Chi, Pao Choi, Dragon Baguazhang, Praying Mantis, and Tao Style. At Dragon Phoenix he focuses on the more peaceful side of the art along with mind-body integration, and Tao philosophy. Aaron brings the wisdom he learned from the traditional classroom into his Kung Fu instruction as well.

He believes that every student has the potential to become great, and that people learn best with patience and kindness. Aaron is the head instructor at Dragon Phoenix and he teachers Kung Fu to Odyssey School 2nd-8th grade students. Although he has studied many styles of martial arts since 1998, he has gravitated towards the Internal styles as he values their harmony with the natural movements of the body and promotes health along with being very effective as a martial art.
